Dr. B. Keith Collins from Eye Care for Animals, Pewaukee, Wisconsin, will be doing our CERF clinic this year. It will be held on site, on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 1:30 to about 5:30. We need to take reservations to ensure that we meet Dr. Collins’ required 30 dog minimum. Your reservation will reserve you a slot but you will not have an appointment time, which will allow you to come when it is convenient for you. Dr. Collins will exam about 8-10 dogs an hour which will give us slots for about 32-40 dogs. We need your reservation by April 10. After that date, if we do not have 30 reservations, we will open the clinic to other breeds.. After the deadline, we will post on the web site whether or not we will allow other breeds and begin accepting reservations for other breeds. You can cancel your reservation at any time prior to April 10 and receive a full refund. Cancellations after April 10 will not be refunded unless we have a waiting list. You will be notified if you are on a waiting list. The cost is $30.00 per dog. You need to arrive 20 minutes prior to the time you want your dog examined. There may also be a wait. You will be given dilating drops to put in your dog's eye and there will be someone there to assist you if you need help. The drops take 20 minutes to take effect and the eyes remain dilated for 4-6 hours after the exam, which could have an effect on your dog if you have an activity planned for them after the exam. You will need your dog's AKC number and chip number if they are microchipped.
